Whenever it was one of our birthdays growing up, we would beg my Mom to make this cake. It’s basically the easiest thing in the world to make and doesn’t involve any baking! For kids born in the hot summer months, this was a major blessing for my Mom in the form of not having to turn on the oven….
When one hosts a last minute dinner party on a work night, one needs to find a quick, hearty meal that can serve a crowd without A) taking hours to prepare B) breaking the bank + C) requiring a lot of active time as guests start arriving.
I’ve recently become obsessed with all things panna cotta and am determined to perfect the art of its creamy gelatin goodness. Panna cotta has long been one of my favorite dessert items at restaurants because it isn’t super duper heavy and usually comes with a good amount of fruit in tow, which always appeals to me. Usually the beloved panna cotta is made using a mold and is popped out onto your plate once it fully sets….
After about a few weeks of pestering I finally managed to figure out what my brother wanted to do for his birthday this year and of course it involved Sriracha. We more or less stuck to his original plan of appetizers at my place then hitting up the brewery up the street for beer and skeeball, but we made a few minor adjustments along the way….
Fourth of July is one of those holidays that exists for grilling purposes and grilling purposes alone in my kitchen. I took over the kitchen at my Mom’s Significant Other’s house to make some delicious Grilled Red Snapper Tacos with a Grilled Corn + Cherry Tomato Salad to go with her world famous Guacamole. I wasn’t kidding about the whole grilling thing. We did a LOT of grilling….
